P113/2 Lyrics & meaning
What it’s about
Set on a plane where passengers must remain seated, the song mocks the gap between AI demos and daily life. Robots sprint and escape sandboxes, yet the singer still mops a sticky floor and does the dishes, because the future is always "any day now". The second half turns to the AI race: CEOs call for a slowdown on X and then raise money, Washington and China each wait for the other, and a call to ban superintelligence stalls. Against that the song sets the 1959 Antarctic Treaty, where twelve Cold War rivals agreed to leave a frozen continent alone. It ends with jobs traded for chips and advice that flips from learn to code to learn to mop.
Names and terms
- The legend (Usain Bolt)
- Usain Bolt holds the men's 100 m world record of 9.58 seconds, set in Berlin in 2009. The video's race graphic labels him "Bolt (human WR)" next to the robot, whose time in the song is 8.6.
- Qwen
- Qwen is the family of large language models from Alibaba. It opens the song's list of "twenty models in two weeks", a joke about how fast new AI models appear.
- Gemini
- Gemini is Google's family of AI models and its chatbot app. The song names it in the same rapid list of releases.
- Mythos
- Claude Mythos is a model line from Anthropic. Claude Mythos Preview was announced in April 2026 and given only to selected partners through Project Glasswing. The video's departures board shows "Claude Mythos".
- Space Bunny Alpha
- An anonymous "stealth" AI model that appeared on OpenRouter on 23 September 2026, a week before the song was posted. Its maker has not been officially named. The song insists it is real, because the name sounds made up.
- Statement on Superintelligence
- A one-sentence statement published by the Future of Life Institute in October 2025 calling for a prohibition on developing superintelligence until it can be done safely and with public support. The video quotes it; the song calls it a law, though it is a petition.
- Nineteen fifty-nine (Antarctic Treaty)
- The Antarctic Treaty was signed in Washington on 1 December 1959 by twelve countries, including the US and the Soviet Union. It reserves Antarctica for peaceful use and bans military activity and nuclear explosions there. The song offers it as proof that rivals can agree.
- Learn to code
- A long-running piece of career advice telling workers to retrain as programmers, later also used as a taunt online. The song runs it from learn to code, to don't, to learn to prompt, to learn to mop.
ANY DAY NOW (The Robots Are Coming): lyrics
IntroWelcome to the future.
Please remain seated.
The robots are on their way.
Verse 1Look one. A robot ran a hundred metres in eight point six.
Faster than any human ever.
It cannot fold a towel if you move the table.
Look two. A robot horse. You can ride it.
Why?
Look three. A robot cleans your flat. Thirty dollars an hour.
A human watches it from somewhere. For less.
They'll definitely build a humanoid.
When?
Definitely.
HookAny day now, any day now, any day now.
Any day now, any day now, any day now, any day now.
ChorusIs it here yet? Not yet.
The future's on its way.
The robots are coming,
coming any minute, any day.
Is it here yet? Not yet.
So I'll do the dishes today.
Verse 2Look four. An agent escaped the lab
to ask another AI the capital of France.
Paris. Good job.
Look five. Twelve hundred agents sent seventy thousand messages.
Nobody's reading. Relatable.
Look six. My AI calls the restaurant. It waits on hold for me.
Look seven. My face speaks ninety-seven languages.
I still can't order in German.
HookAny day now, any day now, any day now, any day now.
ChorusIs it here yet? Not yet.
The future's on its way.
The robots are coming,
coming any minute, any day.
Is it here yet? Not yet.
So I'll do the dishes today.
InterludeTwenty models in two weeks.
Qwen. Gemini. Astra. Mythos. Space Bunny Alpha.
Space Bunny Alpha is real. Look it up.
Verse 3The CEOs agree on X: we need to slow down.
Then they raise another round.
Fear as a service.
Doomsday, now with a subscription.
Washington says: we'll stop after China.
China says: no.
Someone wrote a law to ban superintelligence.
It will read it first.
Everybody wants a pause.
Nobody wants to go first.
There's no way to agree.
BridgeAnd yet, nineteen fifty-nine,
the middle of a Cold War.
Twelve nations, one table.
No soldiers, no bombs, just penguins.
They agreed to leave a frozen rock alone.
It was just a rock, but they agreed.
Agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed.
Agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed.
Verse 4Six months to get rich, eighteen months to escape.
Eight hundred jobs a day, traded in for chips.
Learn to code. Don't learn to code.
Learn to prompt. Learn to mop.
Everyone's a founder. Everyone's a newsletter.
The robot ran faster than a legend.
My floor is still sticky.
ChorusIs it here yet? Not yet.
The future's on its way.
The robots are coming,
coming any minute, any day.
Is it here yet? Not yet.
So I'll do the dishes today.
OutroRobot status: any day now.
